I can say I was surprised by the story having read Holly Black’s previous books and I expected something similar in a way.The world is full of curse magic and everybody is aware of the fact that there's people that are able to curse with a single touch. There are 7 types of curse magic: luck, dreams, emotions, dreams, body, memory, death and transformation. Luck workers are the most common and one transformation worker is born every decade.We find ourselves engrossed in a new world and Cassel, the only non worker in a family full of workers, who acts as an inexperience voice is the perfect person to guide the reader. I thought White Cat was an amazing book with a little slow pace start, but is expect given Cassel is showing a whole new world to the reader and world of magic never seen before. But once we get to know Cassel, his emotions are pretty easy to read and to sympathize with him, Cassel’s frustration over his brothers and over himself for the death of his best friend and crush, Lila, whom he killed when he was 14 years old.I think White Cat is an amazing book and I'm looking forward for the next book in Holly Black series.
